Why are the cloaks of Draenei Males floating 2 feet above their tail?

I would assume that draenei cloaks float above their tails for the single reason that Blizzard did not want them to clip through their tails. As for a lore reason, I have no idea. Draenei magic. Remnant light energy from a voided naaru.
